Deer Creek Erosion Repair Project – Notice of Intent

The Tehama County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) proposes to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (Section 15000 et seq., Title 14, California Code of Regulations) for the Deer Creek Erosion Repair Project (project or proposed project).

The District identified an erosion site along the south (left) bank of Deer Creek approximately 0.87-mile west of Leininger Road. The project would repair the approximately 300 linear foot erosion area by re-building the waterside bank slope with 6-inch minus backing rock and Caltrans class 5 riprap. The erosion area and a transition area just outside of the erosion area will be stabilized with the rock protection to create a 2H:1V slope. Project construction is anticipated to begin in summer or early fall 2021 and would take approximately 1 month to complete.
