Factsheet and Survey for Groundwater Demand Management

The District must develop programs to manage groundwater sustainably by 2042 under State law. Negative impacts have already occurred in the county, such as wells going dry, falling water tables, and land subsidence concerns. The District is working hard to increase water supplies (like recharge projects and using surface water instead).

We are also exploring strategies to reduce water use and ensure groundwater resources remain sustainable for future generations. The District is currently developing a Groundwater Demand Management Program. The proposed approaches aren’t final, and now’s the time to weigh in!

We’ve created a factsheet explaining the program timeline and launched a short, anonymous survey to get your input on what makes sense for our community.
