Well Registration Program

Final Call: Register Your Well

Final well registration is due June 30, 2026. If you have not yet registered your well, follow the link below

Background

In June 2022, the Tehama County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Board of Directors adopted Resolution No. 9-2022 requiring county-wide well registration. Well registration is critical for effective, long-term groundwater management in Tehama. Well registration equips the District with the tools to understand and respond to groundwater conditions.

The information collected by filling out the well registration form is confidential and private, will be used only for the purposes of sustainable groundwater management, will improve information on groundwater in our region, and will not be disclosed unless required by law.

June 30, 2026 Deadline – If you do not register your well by June 30, 2026, your upcoming groundwater fee will be estimated from zoning data – which may be higher than your actual use. The groundwater fee is to establish a long-term funding mechanism for groundwater sustainability. The District will decide on the fee structure in early summer 2026 at a public hearing. Visit the Groundwater Funding page to learn more.
